excerpt from the novel:

She closed her eyes tightly again and then slowly opened them. The grass of the field came into even clearer focus now as did the beautiful blue waters of a lake just beyond the meadow. Slowly, everything around her came into focus. She was in the most beautiful place she could have ever imagined.

The meadow was filled with the most magnificent flowers of all colors and sizes. She took a deep breath again, this time keeping her eyes open. It was as if her very essence was being caressed with the faint smell of flowers and grass, even by the very air around her. She had never felt as peaceful as she did at this very moment.

The lake shimmered in the distance, reflecting the most pristine blue sky with fluffy white clouds and now she could see it was framed by magnificent snowcapped mountains in the background. She had never seen any place like this before, at least not in person. “Where in the world am I?” she asked aloud but was quite happy no one was there to answer her.
