In considering all the options for natural, sustainable and God-given fertilizers, I spent a good bit of time in the garden this morning and it came to me that compost is like God giving us a 2nd chance at life, especially life sustaining nutrients. There are so many bits and pieces in the garden that end up going to waste, whether it is leftover vegetables that don’t get eaten or that just go off in the garden or the parts of the plants that we do not typically eat. All those bits for the most part can go back into the compost bin and are still carrying all the nutrients they offered us the first time around.

Isn’t it amazing how God set things up so that all those bits of leftover vegetables can go around again and share those name nutrients in the garden a second time and make their way back to us. It is like God is giving us a second chance to get those life sustaining nutrients and it totally parallels how God is giving us all a second chance with Him and His kingdom if we only recognize it and do the little bit of work necessary to gain that relationship with Him.
